Who’s Leading EV Charging at Retail Warehouse Parks?
Insights from our latest deployment review
We recently analysed EV charging deployments across UK retail warehouse parks, focusing specifically on rapid and ultra-rapid infrastructure.
The data reveals that Gridserve, Osprey, and Pod Point are the most active charge point operators across the sites we reviewed. A pie chart from the analysis shows their respective shares by number of retail park appearances, reflecting their growing presence in this part of the market.
Why this matters
EV charging at retail parks is not just about infrastructure. It plays a direct role in shaping how long people stay, how much they spend, and which tenants succeed.
Most parks with charging included anchor tenants like Lidl, Costa, or Starbucks. These are medium dwell-time environments, where a typical visit lasts between 20 and 40 minutes. This makes them ideally suited to rapid charging, creating a natural fit between shopper behaviour and charging value.
What this means for landlords and operators
EV charging is no longer just a convenience feature. It is a core part of the customer experience and a potential competitive advantage. The right infrastructure can help attract tenants, increase dwell time, and boost overall asset performance.
As more landlords consider EV investment, understanding who is most active in this space, and what drives their deployment strategy, becomes essential.
